Having been established in Longton since 2000, MovingWorks now have offices in Tarleton and Burscough with Personal Property Consultants covering Preston, Chorley, Leyland and Bamber Bridge.
In 2000, Georgina Cox opened the first MovingWorks Office in the village of Longton. Georgina, a Property Lawyer knew many of her clients had experienced poor service and extortionate fees from local agents but when she personally suffered the same fate through selling with a local agent she decided to do something about it.
“When I founded MovingWorks in 2000, my aim was to create a difference in estate agency: to bring trust, integrity and transparency, with a personable approach offering excellent customer service. That philosophy remains with the company today”
We have continued to provide this service over the last 15 years and we are now firmly established as a major player in the regions property market. MovingWorks has grown considerably over the years. “The internet was just stating back in 2000, very few agents even had computers and we were the first agents in the area to have a website! “
Rightmove was started later that year and as MovingWorks embraced the new technology, property selling through the internet took off. There are more complex issues involved in selling property now and more and more regulations involved.
Over the years I have been dismayed by the practices of other agents, sadly under English law anyone can open up as an estate agent and many do not bother to pay the high fees to join regulatory bodies nor hold the estate agency qualifications. Yet the public pay them vast sums of money to sell their house with no come back should it go wrong. You wouldn’t use an unlicensed or uninsured dentist or solicitor so why would you place your largest asset with an unscrupulous agent?
Georgina has now handed over the day to day running of the business to her son Mark Worrall.
Mark has worked within the business from an early age and has experience within many different roles. He has spent time learning about the conveyancing process with his father Philip Worrall, the local solicitor, during university holidays. And following graduation from Lancaster University obtained Financial services qualifications through the financial services part of the business with his step father Clive Cox, Mark has enviable all round knowledge of the property market.
Mark was made Sales Director in 2014 and his ambition to see the company evolve further is already evident. Branding has changed along with technology and the team is now much larger, but he works hard to ensure that the essence of the company and real values remains unchanged. Mark heads up the Longton team based at head office.
MovingWorks expanding rental management team are also based at the head office. After many years building up the lettings portfolio, the MovingWorks lettings team have built a reputation as responsible managing agents, trusted by landlords and tenants alike.
“ I am proud to have been passed the reins at MovingWorks and I am confident that I can build on the strong foundations in place and continue to achieve high number of sales for our Vendors” said Mark
MovingWorks and property marketing has come a long way since 2000 but the basic principles of transparency, fairness and top class customer service are up held today.
“Our Commitment to Excellence confirm that not only do we give an unrivalled level of service but ensures you achieve the highest sale price possible within the time frame that suits you in a stress free manner.”
